Din Tai Fong is near the top of my list of restaurants to visit during my stay here in Taipei. So finally I got a chance to go there with my family (Hong-Mei and her husband). Their Xiao Long Bao (also known as soup dumplings) is amazing. We had two types, pork and crab filled. I'll let the photos speak...
Finally, they found me a local night market closer to my place of residence called ShiPai. Less than a mile walk. If I discover any delicious food, i'll be sure to post and share. Good night everyone!
wow your food adventure never stops in Taiwan!
ReplyDeletewhich one did u go, I like the original one which is close to 3 (sun) Gugu's house on Sheen-ee Lu(road).
ReplyDeleteThe one on 7th floor, SOGO on Section 6, ZhongShan North Rd.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! I miss Din Tai Fung so much! I had easy access to them while I was in Beijing and Singapore - and none of those locations is as good as the original in Taipei! You HAVE to go to the original Din Tai Fung that mom is talking about - the one where you have to pass thru the kitchen on the lower level to get to the dining rooms above. Yummm....
ReplyDeleteOK, found it. I'll try. It's not sheen-ee, it's Xin Yi Road 194. Near Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT exit.
ReplyDeleteHmm... Xiao Long Bao... my favorite
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't think Din Tai Fong was that great. I mean, it was tasty, but the wait was really long and the food was pretty expensive.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a big 炒飯 snob, and I thought that my local shipai 炒飯店 is better. :P
Everyone has their own taste. Better for you if you can find one you like without a line! :)
